Nanoha The MOVIE 2nd A's announced for Summer 2012

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 2nd A's

A huge announcement was made yesterday. Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha series will get another movie next summer, 2012. This time, it will be a movie adaptation of the second series of the anime, Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A's. The official title is Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 2nd A's. All of the cast and the main staff remain the same, of course. How many cinemas the movie will be screened in has not been revealed yet.

There will never be too much of Nanoha and Fate and I'm really looking forward to the movie. And since they are making a movie from the second season, it's probably not too audacious to assume that they will eventually make a movie adaptation of the third season, StrikerS, as well. We may even get a 4th season of the TV anime, an adaptation of Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha ViVid, after that for all we know. It would make me very happy ^^

K-ON! Trains on the Yamanote Line

Nov 29, 2011

K-ON! Movie on Yamanote Line

The premiere of the K-ON! Film is this Saturday and the people responsible for promotion of the film are doing their best to raise the revenue as much as possible. One of such means - though less effective than for example the prize for people who have seen the film at least 3 times, in my opinion - is posters on carriages of the Yamanote Line trains. Not all trains have gotten this ita-treatment, but quite a few have. According to the statistics, Yamanote Line carries 3.5 million people a day. That's quite a huge promotion. Even though not everyone train is decorated with K-ON! posters, people who use Yamanote Line on a daily basis, and that must be the majority of the 3.5 million, will eventually see a train with K-ON! posters. The posters will be there until December 11, so they have a lot of time to spot one or two, or more ^^

Seitokai Yakuindomo pilgrimage

Nov 20, 2011

Kyoto-127.jpg

When I was in Kyoto, I dropped by several places which the girls in Seitokai Yakuindomo visited during their school field trip to Kyoto. I've already posted two of the photos in the K-ON pilgrimage post, because the spots are the same and so are the angles. It's the photo of Jeugia shop, the very first photo, and the Togetsu Bridge in Arashiyama. Besides the shopping district, there are a few photos from Kinkaku-ji. They visited the Nijou Castle too, but I didn't have the time to go there. I also forgot to take the photos at Kyoto Station orz The last two photos are from the Nara part. You must remember the scene in which they fed the deers if you have seen SYD, right?

It is quite an easy pilgrimage which can be combined with regular sightseeing. You won't look strange taking photos at these spots, so you have nothing to fret about.

Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko pilgrimage

Nov 19, 2011

Nagoya-3.jpg

Some of the scenes from Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko have a real model in Nagoya, so when I went to have a look at the Nagoya castle, these places were included on my to-see list. They aren't hard to find. However, some of them are quite hard to take a photo of. The first picture is a Denny's family restaurant in front of the west exit of Nagoya Station.

14 y/o Mizuki Nana singing at National Enka Contest

Nov 17, 2011

Mizuki Nana

Mizuki Nana started singing enka when she was about 5 years old. She underwent a very strict training under her father, who seems to have been very ardent man judging from Nana's descriptions, mainly from her autobiography Shin Ai. Even though Nana had virtually no freedom and the training was very demanding (for example, she had to sing at the top of her voice so that her father would hear her over his dental drill, not mentioning that she would breathe in the small particles from the drilling), the training bore its fruit. Nana was regarded as a local enka child star and when she was 14 years old, she won a national singing contest, Setouchi Nodo Jiman 10th Anniversary National Contest, thanks to which she was able to enroll into a high school in Tokyo which is known for bringing up many famous artists. However, moving to Tokyo and enrolling into the high school didn't mean that the path for Nana had been paved. Nana's life in Tokyo was very very far from being a happy, blessed life, but that is a long story. Anyway, now, we can watch a short video from the contest which took place 17 years ago.

Nana's voice has always been very powerful and her enka singing is overwhelming. Absolutely wonderful and mesmerizing. She says in the autobiography that she would like to release an enka single one day, but before that, she has to pile up more and more life experience, because that is the most important element of enka. I can only say that once she releases it, I will definitely buy it.

DFC Saturday #71

Hasegawa Kobato

Hasegawa Kobato by tahya

It's still Saturday in Hawaii and people on the East Coast of the US might still be awake as I'm writing this post. There was some lack of material due to which I didn't make a DFC post last week. This time, the pics are accumulated from 2 weeks's worth of uploads. Personally, I like the first and the last pic the most and I believe you will like them as well. If you didn't, you wouldn't be looking at this gallery in the first place. Anyway, without any further ado, enjoy the pictures and remember to be grateful to the artists who so skillfully draw them.
