Dengeki has conducted a popularity poll to find out who is the most popular character from Steins;Gate. The first place is, from my point of view, nothing to be surprised about and so is the second place. I would expect Mayushii to be at a higher place than the Part-Time Warrior; however, it is not like I don't understand why people voted for P-TW as I have taken a liking to her in the recent episodes of Steins;Gate anime. Good job, Yukarin. I think it's mainly thanks to you and your performance as the Part-Time Warrior. Without any further ado, here come the results:

Mikatan has updated her blog with new photos of the upcoming Nendoroid of Tomoe Mami. She comes up as the third one in Madoka Magika Nendoroid series. Optional parts include Mami's musket gun, and not just one but even four of them. A special hand part and bent arm parts for holding the gun are a given. Following, Tiro Finale! A huge gun, bigger than Mami herself, is included as well. It wouldn't be Mami without that, right? What's next? Tomoe Mami likes tea, so a tea cup and saucer are also present. And finally, Charlotte the Witch!
As for the face parts, Mami comes with a regular expression part, an angry face part, and a desperate expression part. Her hat is removable and twintails are connected to her head by joints, so they are posable.

5 Japanese prefectures, namely Tokushima-ken, Kouchi-ken, Ehime-ken, Kagawa-ken, and Okayama-ken, that means the whole Shikoku Island and Okayama-ken in Honshuu have been personified into 5 moe characters. The 4 mascots of the 4 prefectures of Shikoku Island have been labeled as Shikoku Moetai, which could be translated as Shikoku Moe Squad. The presence of the fifth, non-Shikoku character raises questions.
The name of Tokushima-ken's mascot is Awa Awana. The name comes from the dialect spoken in this region called Awa-ben.
Kouchi's mascot called Tosa Ryou. Tosa is the name of a bay off the coast of Kouchi-ken.
Ehime mascot's name is Iyo Ai. The first kanji in Ehime (愛媛) is usually read "ai" which means "love" and is common in names. Iyo is a city in Ehime prefecture.
Mascot of Kagawa-ken, Sanuki Kaoru. The name Kaoru derives from the first kanji of the word Kagawa (香川), which can be read as "kaoru". Sanuki is a town near prefecture's capital Takamatsu city as well as the old name for this region.
Okayama's mascot is called Kibi Momo. Kibi seems to be a combination of the first kanji from Yoshii River and the first kanji from Bizen town, both of which are located to the east of the capital of Okayama prefecture, Okayama city. Okayama prefecture is famous for its peaches and "momo" means "peach" in Japanese.
People on Japanese forums have already started discussions about what seiyuu should lend their voices to these characters, despite there being no evident sign of them getting such treatment. However, if it came to it, there should be no doubt that Mizuki Nana has to be the voice of Kouchi prefecture's mascot and Toyosaki Aki the voice of Tokushima prefecture's one. Actually, there is a series called 47todoufuken (47 prefectures) with characters representing individual prefectures and each of them is voiced by a seiyuu who grew up in that place. Ryuukishi07 from the company 07th Expansions, the creators of popular games Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (Kai) and Umineko no Naku Koro ni (Chiru), is preparing a new game called Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni (The Night When Spider Lily Blooms). This probably means that the series When They Cry is over, but given Ryuukishi's cunning and ingeniousness, I would not be surprised by some cross-overs and references. The news has harvested a lot of negative reactions on Japanese forum boards, because many people were dissatisfied by Ryuukishi's conclusion, or rather non-conclusion of Umineko no Naku Koro ni. It will be interesting to see, whether 07th Expansions' new game will change the opinion about Ryuukishi of those who were disgusted and felt betrayed by Umineko.
