Reservations for Nendoroid of Kaname Madoka from recently concluded epic anime that has surely etched itself into history, Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magika aka Puella Magi Madoka Magica, have started. Mikatan has posted some preview photos of Madoka Nendo on her blog, and they all look really lovely. See them yourselves. Nendoroid Madoka comes with 3 face parts, which has become a common standard for Nendoroids. One is a smiling face, another one is an angry expression, and the last one is a scribbled face. A pair of extra arms is included, as well as an extra leg part. A magical girl should never be unarmed so as not to be caught off-guard, that's why Madoka Nendo can wield her magical bow and pinkish lightning arrow, but she has to change her hand parts for yet another pair which is able to hold the weapons.
Now, what release it would be if the much condemned extraterrestrial being Kyuubey were not a part of it. Yes, you will be able to vent your anger upon him should you want, and in case you deal him a serious damage, you have an extra body of this wolf-in-sheep's-clothing beast. The Japanese publisher company Media Factory has announced that the author of light novel "MM!", Matsuno Akinari, passed away on April 18. Matsuno won the 1st Media Factory Bunko J Light Novel New Author Award and debuted with a science-fiction comedy called Aoba-kun to Uchuujin in 2005. In February 2007, Matsuno started his second series MM!, a comedy about a masochist, a sadistic girl, an androphobic girl, a creepy cross-dresser, an otaku, and other irregular characters, and it was adapted into an anime last year.
The latest, 10th volume of MM! was published last September and the series will, much to the chagrin of fans, remain unfinished.
The cause of death has not been revealed; however, as Matsuno Akinari was most likely in his 30s, it was an untimely death. May his soul rest in peace.

It's Easter Monday today and there's a custom in my country involving women painting or in other ways adorning chicken eggs, which they then hand over to men on Easter Monday as a reward for being harshly and drastically whipped with a whip woven from willow branches, which is supposed to prevent them from getting old. I myself do not indulge in this activity as I consider it a violation of women rights. Many people, however, form squads and go around towns and villages in search of girls and ladies whom they could harass with their thick rods on the pretext of collecting eggs.
Anyway, this year I decided to make my own custom egg. All I needed was a red and a black marker and one white egg. So... will you make a contract and become a magical girl? Kyuubegg wants you!

Namco Bandai is joining with Good Smile Company, who is celebrating the 10th anniversary of their existence, for a PSP game project entitled Nendoroid Generation (ねんどろいど じぇねれ～しょん). It's going to be an RPG game and as the name implies, it will feature GSC's Nendoroids. The game will be set in a school called simply Nendoroid High School.
The contents of the game have not been fully revealed yet, but we already know that there will be a battle system in it. Like in fighting games, you'll be able to perform chain combo attacks and also group co-attacks. There will also be a dancing mode, where you can dance around with Nendoroids, and you will be also able to interact with them - pat them, stare at them, etc. So far, the following Nendoroids have been announced to be available in the game:

This list is supposed to grow a few times bigger, according to the CEO of GSC, Takanori Aki. The release date of the game is far from being announced since only about 20% of the game has been developed.
At any rate, this game is likely to be quite a hit, at least among Nendoroid fans and collectors. The cuteness of Nendoroids will be transferred to a game environment which will allow you to do other things that you couldn't possibly do with regular Nendoroid figures. The reasons for people who don't have a PSP - including myself - to buy one keep on growing.

Mikatan has updated her blog with preview photos of Nendoroid Shiina Mayuri from anime based on visual novel Steins;Gate. Mayuri is the second addition to Steins;Gate Nendoroid releases; the first one was Marise Kurisu, who will be re-released on the day of Mayuri's release. Mayuri comes with three face parts: a regular one, a smiling one, and a perplexed one. As regards arm parts, in addition to the regular stretched ones, a pair of bentd arms is included as well as a left arm with a fork, a piece of karaage is stuck to which, and another left arm part, which holds a banana. There's also an extra right arm part, holding a cellphone. GSC has been very generous this time round as there's also the Metal Oopa, which appeared in episode 1, included in this release. And that's about it.
Nendoroid Shiina Mayuri is to be available for pre-orders as of tomorrow, the 21st of April, 2011.

Seiyuu Kobayashi Yuu has done it again. By "it", I mean she has once again taken the pen in her hand and let her genius manifest itself. She's very well-known for her artworks, which are rich on creativity and combine the features of cubism, surrealism, impressionism and other art movements. If you have seen any of her works before, you know how hard it is to describe and categorize them, as they really are unique. That's why Kobayashi Yuu is also known under the nickname the Artist. This time round she was given an easily sounding task: to draw a cat. She took it on and most likely decided to make it more challenging for herself since she drew a jumping cat with a small bell on its neck. Check out and assess the result yourself.

New Spring anime Hidan no Aria, also known as Aria the Scarlet Ammo, is supposed to receive an episode 13 which will not be aired and will be only distributed on the 7th volume of Hidan no Aria BD/DVD release together with episode 12. Volume 7 is going to be released on December 21; the release of the first volume is scheduled to June 22.
