Hatsune Miku celebrates her 3rd birthday today! Happy birthday! Unfortunately, I've got no cake T_T Nevermind. Long live Miku! Banzai!
There's about a month left before the Fall anime season starts so it's not a bad idea to have a look at what's awaiting us this time. God bless chartfag for creating the usual visual guide to the upcoming anime season again. It really is a great synopsis digest.
I will watch

To Aru Majutsu no Index II
I watched the first season so it's a given that I will watch the continuation, too.

Bakuman
A show about two students, a talented artist Moritaka Mashiro and an aspiring writer Akito Takagi who team up to realize their dream of becoming successful manga artists. Also, Mashiro has a promise with a girl he loves that he will marry her if his mangaka dream comes true.
It's based on the manga by Ooba Tsugumi and Obata Takeshi who are very well known for creating the Death Note manga.

Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai
Kousaka Kyousuke and his sister Kirino has been on bad terms for years and for as long as Kyousuke remembers she has been ignoring him and despising him. He thought it would go on like this forever; however, it is eventually to change. One day, he finds a DVD case of a mahou shoujo anime in the entranceway of his house and to his surprise, the DVD inside has been actually replaced with an adult game titled Imouto to Koi Shiyo! (Make Love with Your Little Sister!). Kyousuke tries bringing up the topic of mahou shoujo anime at the family dinner to find the one who dropped it there, and after the dinner, his sister approaches him and hauls him to her room as she has something to consult with him. There, in her room, Kirino shows him her secret collection of moe anime and adult bishoujo games.
I've been excited about this ever since I heard about it getting an anime adaptation. The light novel is said to be very good and the seiyuu cast is great (Taketatsu Ayana as Kirino, Nakamura Yuuichi as Kyousuke, also Satou Satomi and none other than Yukarin) so I have my expectations very high here.
I will check out

Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru
A comedy which revolves around a maid teashop called Seaside. The main female protagonist, working at this teashop, dreams of becoming a highschool girl detective. And this series follows her everyday events and adventures.
Why this? Why, Shaft. Plus, it sounds good and I have also been familiar with this title for quite a while so it probably isn't bad.

Yosuga no Sora
Twins Haruka and Sora have lost their parents and decide to move in with their grandfather who lives in a remote village Okukozome-chou, which they have pleasant memories of. There, they meet again with their old friends and make friends with new ones, too. All seems very peaceful, but a secret promise made long time ago changes everything.
I like this type of anime so I think about watching this one. It reminds me of titles such as Sola, and H2O. In addition, the animation looks very good, and, and... watch the PV if you want to see something nice. Though, it may be considered a minor spoiler (but it's also a kind of encouragement to watch this anime). So, don't complain afterwards. I did warn you.

MM!
Sado Tarou has a psychological condition. Simply put, he's a masochist. He does his best to hide this fact from his crush and seeks help with the Volunteers Club. But there he encounters a girl who strongly believes she's a god.
Sounds good! Plus, the seiyuu cast includes Fukuyama Jun, Taketatsu Ayana, and Satou Rina. I think I might love this series. By the way, I get the feeling that if this anime was produced a year ago, the little bossy girl would have been voiced by Kugyuu. Are you abandoning her in favor of new voices/faces, anime producers? T_T

Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai (The World God Only Knows)
Katsuragi Keima, a second-year high school student, is an avid dating sim gamer. He is known on the Internet as "The Capturing God" for his legendary skills to be able to "capture" any 2D girl in games. At the start of the series, Keima receives an e-mail offering him a contract to "capture" girls. He accepts what is thought to be a challenge, and a demon from Hell nicknamed Elsee appears. She asks for his cooperation to help her in catching the runaway spirits. These spirits hide themselves inside the girls' heart, and Elsee suggests that the only method to force the spirits out is by "capturing" their hearts—making them fall in love. Appalled by the idea, Keima refuses after clarifying to Elsee that he is only interested in "capturing" 2D girls and that he detests reality. Nevertheless, with the contract already accepted, Keima would have to help Elsee no matter what; if they fail, both Elsee and Keima would lose their heads.
I might check out

Otome Youkai Zakuro
Set in alternative Japan in Meiji Era. The Gregorian calendar has just come into effect and interracial interaction is promoted. Fox-eared girls are put to work together with young human soldiers.
Toyosaki Aki, Hocchan, Hanazawa Kana, and Nakahara Mai as fox girls.
The sound quality of the video is horrid.

Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls
Set in alternate 21st century during the reign of 25th Tokugawa shogun, where Japan is secluded from the rest of world. A rebellion occurs at a giant academy but it's suppressed by the student council.
Great cast lineup: Kugimiya Rie, Kobayashi Yuu, Toyosaki Aki, Koshimizu Ami, Kotobuki Minako, Gotou Saori, Yuuki Aoi.

Shinryaku! Ika Musume
A comedy centering around a squid girl who vows to invade the beaches of mankind since humans have polluted the seas. However, her invasion is less than successful, and she ends up on dry ground.

Fortune Arterial Akai Yakusoku
Fortune Arterial's story revolves around the male protagonist Hasekura Kouhei, who transfers into a prestigious public school in the style of an English six-year school encompassing junior-high and high school students. The school is on an island named Tamatsu Island off-shore from mainland Japan, and the only way to get there is by boat. Soon after transferring, he discovers that one of the student in the class next door to his, Sendou Erika, is in fact a type of vampire.
It's based on visual novel by August, guys who made Yoake Mae Yori Ruriirona. I really liked that series.

The promotional video for Index II that was streamed at Comiket 78 was finally streamed on the Internet two days ago. It looks really great and ignites my anticipation of the second season of Index. The first season has left me a bit disappointed so I hope the second season will make up for it. Also, I hope that Kuroko gets some not insignificant screen time ^^
Accelerator is back in action! Fine, show us what you're made of XD
I almost forgot that I also can't wait to hear the new opening theme. It's called "No buts!" and it's performed of course by none other than Kawada Mami.

This time around, the DFC Saturday pictures are particularly great, in my opinion. At least I like them a lot and I hope so do you. There's no need for any more blabber; it's time to feast your eyes.

I watch Highschool of the Dead for a couple of reasons. But it could be summarized simply by saying: "for pure entertainment". There's virtually no complex plot, it's just a straightforward, shoot'em-down-in-order-to-survive anime with lots of zombies, lots of zombies' flying bodies, and lots of jelly-like, physics-defying huge breasts. The 8th episode has brought the defiance to a whole new level. I really couldn't help laughing. Screw the physics, let's rock'n'roll!

I feel as if my blog has been turning into a blog about nothing but K-ON recently, but this quite an interesting news. As you probably know, K-ON school Sakurakou has a real-life model, a former school in Toyosato town, near Kyoto. Unlike in Haruhi school's case, K-ON's real life model is open for visitors and the musicroom is decorated with countless K-ON merchandise, as well as various things that appeared in the anime, including Giita, Erizabesu, and Muttan.
Regarding this case, somebody tried recreating the part from episode 11 of the second season where the girls are boiling hot and trying to find something to cool themselves with, they fish out an old electric fan in the storage room. This person brought an old electric fan and left it in the club room. So far there's no problem. However, apparently, after some time this electric fan started to smoke and caught on fire when somebody turned it on. Thankfully, the fire doesn't seem to have inflicted any damage. But should it catch fire when nobody was present, it might have caused serious harm.

This is likely to be the culprit
Henceforth, it's prohibited to bring any electric appliances or any other hazardous material into the music room. To K-ON fans delight, the town mayor hasn't taken any further measures, so the Houkago Tea Time's clubroom remains open for public.

SEGA have recently streamed another trailer for the upcoming PSP rhythm game called "K-ON! Houkago Live!!". They have explained the game system in the first trailer so this time they talk about the wide selection of costumes you can have them wear, various locations where they can play, and songs that are available. Multiplayer will be available too; up to 5 players can connect together as there are 5 instrumental parts available for each song. In other words, each of the 5 can choose one HTT member to play.
There will be some rewards you can receive for certain achievements in the game. You can enjoy these items in the Light Music Club clubroom together with the girls, who will appear in chibi form in this kind of a side-story game mode.
K-ON! Houkago Live!! is scheduled to September 30 release. Pre-orders will come with bonus goods - K-ON! stickers which you can decorate your PSP with.
At times like these I can't help but lament: "Why do I have an NDS instead of a PSP?! It sucks! I wanna play this!" ^^'

The pre-orders for Black Rock Shooter figma and nendoroid figures, which are to be released in a few days, have been piling up very well. The number of pre-orders has exceeded 160,000. Mikatan has updated her blog with new preview photos of both the figma and the nendoroid.

Saturday is approaching, and of course with pettanko abreast. Pettanko abreast, what a funny wording. Let me borrow a line from this week's Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi to introduce this installment. "There is one miraculous form of boobs immune to gravity. They are flat chests! This form is truly majestic! They stand tall and without blemish, like a wall unshaken by the wind! Flat chests will remain flat chests for as long as they live!"
