YUI - Again

Apr 30, 2009

YUI

Here comes the full version of YUI's new song that is the opening song for currently airing Fullmetal Alchemist 2009. Not only that it is an amazing song, the video is stunning too. I really like it. And of course YUI is cute as always.

The release date of single Again is 3rd June, so it's still more than a month until that day.

I'm putting here the opening video of Fullmetal Alchemist too. It matches the song very well, great job by both parts, animators and YUI.

Key announces Angel Beats!

Apr 27, 2009

Angel Beats!

Key, studio that created many popular visual novels such as Kanon, Clannad or Planetarian, has announced a new game project titled Angel Beats!.

What is surprising is that the author of the scenario will be Maeda Jun who had earlier said he wouldn't write story lines anymore and he would concentrate on music composing. Anyway, if it is a story by Maeda Jun then it will most likely be something very good, since he has written epic moving stories, for example Air, Kanon or Clannad.

Angel Beats!

Characters will be designed by artist Na-Ga. An interesting thing that I believe some of you have probably noticed by now is that the main female character, the one in the picture, resembles Suzumiya Haruhi. You can see a few slight modifications of this picture at Sankaku Complex in which hair color, eye color and headband color were changed to Haruhi's colors and the resemblance is really shocking. At any rate, she looks very nice and I'm looking forward to more Angel Beats characters.

You can watch a short, 15-second-long promotional video of Angel Beats! here.

K-ON! Maid Akiyama Mio: Moe Moe Kyun

Apr 26, 2009

The last episode of K-ON! became a great inspiration for artists who have already successfully adopted a certain scene from that episode into their fanarts. I'm obviously talking about Ritsu's image of Mio in maid uniform, followed by a fitting line: "Moe, moe, kyun!"

I've found eight different drawings of that particular scene and I think it's quite a lot if you take into account that this episode was broadcast just a few days ago. But their number will definitely raise and there will be a sea of them in a week or so I guess.

Yandere Gallery

Apr 25, 2009

A certain post in member news at Danny's site has inspired me to go through my image folders and post some nice yandere pictures I know I've collected up to now. I'm not any hardcore yandere fan, but I admit that they have a specific aura around them that makes the interesting, don't you think so? Well, if you are scared to death of them then it can't be helped and I advise you not to keep on scrolling down this post. It would only scare you much more.

Not all of the characters in the pictures really are yandere, but they look like a yandere or yangiri in them. Anyway, enjoy!

K-ON! rules the music market

Apr 24, 2009

K-ON!

Recently released OP&ED singles from K-ON! have taken the lead in the music market and showed everyone their power. They're ranked 1st and 2nd bestsellers on Amazon as you can also see in the picture. They do very well in Oricon chart too, where they rank around 2nd to 4th position these days. Today, Don't Say Lazy single is #3, and Cagayake Girls is #4. Yesterday, Don't Say Lazy was one rank higher.

K-ON!

K-ON!

K-ON! has definitely got a lot of fans in a very short time and I'm sure the number will only raise in the near future. We may have here a new anime that can match with the extremely popular slice-of-life series such as Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, or Lucky Star, in terms of popularity.

I like K-ON! very much, the main characters are really great. Who is your favorite girl from keionbu (Light Music Club)? Mine is Mio, without any doubt. She is really adorable, and she is the number one for most of the people. Her fanbase is incredibly big and there are so many fanarts of her on the Internet. Just try to look for K-ON! at some image sites and you will find that most of the pictures are Mio fanarts.

EDIT:

24th April, single Don't Say Lazy managed to rank first in the Oricon chart and Cagayake Girls followed on second place. Really a great achievement for K-ON!. I must say that the ED song Don't Say Lazy is truly awesome and I have listened to it many times in the last days.

Takenashi Eri discharged from hospital

Apr 23, 2009

Nagi

Takenashi Eri, mangaka of Kannagi, has finally updated her site where she mentions that she has been released from hospital and now is convalescing at home. However, she doesn't want to provide any details about her illness yet.

Takenashi was hospitalized since December 2008, around the same time when she was also supposedly threatened because the main character of Kannagi might not have been virgin.

She is very grateful for all the mails and support of her fans who have been wishing for her quick recovery. One of them even sent her a senbazaru, string with 1000 origami cranes that is said to grant a wish such as recovery from illness.

It will still take some time before she will be completely okay, so she won't restart the work on Kannagi manga yet. But she intends to continue, she just doesn't want to rush it, because she could mess it up.

Hayate no Gotoku!! - episode 3 review

Apr 22, 2009

First, the most important thing that happened in episode 3 actually didn't happen, and that's the problem. J.C.Staff failed to continue the tradition of making some screen time for Ayumu in every episode and this episode was Ayumu-less. It's a pity that they didn't stick to this 'rule' because it had been quite fun to always wait for her scene and wonder what and where she would be doing.

Hayate no Gotoku episode 3 review

Our four heroes have entered the dungeon and Nagi is scared to death. Katsura-sensei goes astray in pursue of a treasure. Hinagiku comes to the dungeon to help them, because Hayate seemed pretty troubled. She meets Isumi who comes to perform some exorcisms. Isumi lends her a supposedly great wooden sword made by Masamune. Sephiroth from Final Fantasy had a sword called Masamune. There's a sign that reads Fuurin Kazan on the wooden Masamune.

Meanwhile, our brave party reduced to three members find out there are ghosts in the dungeon. While running away from a ghost, Nagi steps on a trap triggering button and Hayate is shot by a poisoned arrow.

Then the priest of the church appears and calls himself Lord British from Akiba - pun on the fantasy RPG Ultima. He tells them that the poison isn't very potent, but Hayate's HP will decrease with every step he takes. In order to save him, Nagi and Wataru must find the Celceta Flower that grows in the deepest part of the dungeon.

Hayate no Gotoku episode 3 review

They go to get it but they are attacked by Mikado Corporation Robot on their way there. Nagi is about to be smashed by its giant fist when Ten no Koe stops the time with the technique Za Waarudo and commercials follow. It's taken from manga Jojo's Bizarre Adventures and this technique can even stop the time. After the commercial break, hero of justice, Katsura Hinagiku, shows up and blows up the robot in one strike. In a different part of the dungeon, Isumi protects poor Hayate from attacking ghosts, and then cures his poison status.

Wataru finds the Celceta Flower, however it's withered and is useless anymore. Hayate catches up with the rest and then:

The fake one introduces herself as Sonia and her objective is to take revenge against Sanzenins. She summons an ultimate boss robot that looks unbeatable, but... Hina-chan Unplugging Attack!

Sonia then tells her heartbreaking story of why she seeks revenge againts Sanzenins. Her father was a Mafian at Mykonos Islands and got a mission to get rid of Sanzenins' little girl, Nagi. When he was about to shoot her, a man whom they supposed to be a Sanzenin butler. After this failure, her father travelled to Japan to learn the art of cooking and unfortunately he got blowfish poisoning there.

She looks like Ciel from Tsukihime.

Ghost Katsura shows up and takes the lead. She's deliberately possessed because she will get 1 million yen for it. Having got the ultimate robot under her control, she tries to beat them. Hayate wants to do something to protect Nagi who has been clutched by the giant robot and the priest tells him to image the power inside his heart - Fate Stay Night reference. Hayate finally finds his ultimate killing technique called Hayate no Gotoku, Just like the Wind, and destroys not only the robot, but even the whole dungeon and the church as well.

Due to this sudden use of an enormous power his capability to move his body has seriously dropped and he feels his bones are shaking even hours after that.

Back at Sanzenin Mansion, Klaus acknowledges Hayate as Sanzenin butler.
