Finally, review of Alter's Fate Shin Sonic Form is here. It took me longer than expected, because of problems with lighting and Fate's size. I am going to make a light box soon, hopefully over Christmas. That should keep me away from any similar problems in future and improve the quality of my photos as well.
The box was huge, but not as huge as I expected... Still, it's huge...
Yes, we need a cutter, of course.
Shana was astonished by that large box, but she managed to cut through the paper in the end.
Some info about this figure:
Height: approximately 35 cm
Manufacturer : Alter
Scale : 1/7
Material : PVC, ABS
Sculptor : Tsumezuka Hiroyuki
Box dimensions : 430 mm X 230 mm X 375 mm
Zanber length: approximately 56 cm
These information can be found on the Internet. However, you won't find any numbers regarding weight. It's not really important, after all. But I wanted to know it and weighed her. Fate, with her stand, without any weaponry, weighs 395g; Riot Zanber weighs 65g. She is definitely a massive addition to any figure collection.
If my memory serves me well, this Fate figure was originally planned to be released in July, but got delayed about 4 times, so she was only released in late November. But it was worth the waiting, as she is absolutely amazing! The posture is very cool and together with Fate's expression creates a very powerful aura. Coloring is done tip-top in every part. In addition, her suave attire has a nice shiny touch and particularly the black color gives off very pretty sparkling. And her eyes are burning with power and can make you tremble with fear.
Unfortunately, I had a small issue with my Fate. She had a yellow blot of paint on her left breast, and a very persistent one at that. Soap didn't help and I didn't want to use much force so that I wouldn't damage her, but I had to use some force in the end. Thankfully, I didn't scrape off the original color. I would probably go crazy if I did.
This figure really has an amazing level of details and will definitely become the center of attention in any collection. Alter did an amazing job on her.
Well, you can see that Zanber is really big. There is an additional stand to support him, but it seems that it isn't necessary. Fate doesn't fall even without it, but at this time there's no way of telling whether it could have any negative effect on her, like bending, or not.
You can see Fate's face reflected in her Zanber. It looks really cool.
Now, some close-ups.
The legs have an excellent level of details as you can see.
I like this one.
Lovely oshiri.
An obligatory pantsu shot.
Riot Blades.
She has the same base as other Nanoha characters made by Alter.
The photo above is probably my favorite.
The times when Fate was a flat loli are long gone ^^
Some Christmas decoration fell down on Fate.
Fate picked up a new weapon.
Now, some photoshop playing.
Fate's hair with Nanoha hair color XD
A photo with no lighting. The reason I'm putting it up is that this photo has file number 1010666 in my camera. Triple six, it has to mean something ^^'
Let's end it with a comparative picture.
This figure is flawless. I can't see anything I could complain about, only the price maybe ^^; I was prepared for a 12,000 yen strip-off from my account. But I didn't expect that the shipping cost would be another 6,000 yen. Nevertheless, I don't regret buying this figure in the slightest. It is a masterpiece and for me, a Fate fan, this was a must-have.
I will certainly take some more photos of her later. Maybe in front of our X-Mas tree. But you can definitely expect pair shots once my Nanoha comes. It was announced a few days ago that she's delayed to January 22. So I have to wait for a bit more. She may come right on time for my birthday if she doesn't get delayed anymore.
